Since 1906 little kids and kids at heart have enjoyed the "flying horses" of City Park's antique carousel, one of only 100 antique wooden carousels in the country and the last one in Louisiana. The carousel, featuring the masterwork of famed carousel carvers Looff and Carmel, is listed on the National Register of Historic Places and its renovation garnered national attention and praise from the National Historic Preservation Society. Our Fall corn maze and the Spring Country Market are now located north of Dry Creek, just a short country drive north of Lake Charles! Weather permitting, CM Farms grows cantaloupe and watermelon in the spring and summer (along with other crops). Our produce will be for sale in the Country Market. In the fall - we grow a-Maze-ing farm fun! It's old-fashioned family fun, country-style. Meet our resident Longhorns and their sidekick, WhiteFace, an Angus crossbred family pet - and that's just for starters! We have some cacklin' chickens and a flock of famous Gulf Coast sheep. Kamba Kourse, located inside the Audubon Zoo, is a 44-foot tall, 3 level ropes course complete with 33 exciting elements including zig-zag beams, cargo nets, angled rope ladders, crisscross walks and more. All ages and abilities above 42" tall can experience the Sky Trail attraction. Participants are able to choose their path through the rope elements while going at their own pace with the ability to pass other participants at each platform. For young adventurers, there's Sky Tykes, a specially designed ropes course for kids ages 2-7 or under 48" tall.

The Alexandria Zoological Park was founded in 1926, encompasses 33 shady acres, and is home to more than 500 animals. The African Experience: Phase 1, which opened in 2003, and the award winning Louisiana Habitat, which opened in 1998, are two of the zoo's most spectacular exhibits.
